Fall 2020 Advising Update

Author: Financial Success | Image: Financial Success

As Iowa State University prepares for students, faculty, and staff to return to campus it is critical that we work together to maintain a safe and welcoming environment that reflects not only the best practices for reducing the spread of COVID-19, but also our need to consistently offer our advising services that are available on campus.

Our office, along with the Office of Student Financial Aid, are currently not offering in person advising appointments at this time. If would like to schedule a one on one meeting, please make your virtual appointment at least 15 minutes ahead of time via ISUAppointments. The Office of Student Financial Success has available services such as budgeting, credit, private loan counseling, and exit counseling. If you’re not sure what service to select when making your appointment, just choose “Financial Success via Phone or Video Conference” and an available Financial Literacy Advisor will help you with your money needs!

Our preferred virtual advising platform is Webex. WebEx can accommodate both phone and video conferencing appointments. If you would prefer to have an adviser call you on your cell, please provide your number in the comments when making your phone appointment in ISUAppointments.

Have financial aid documents to hand in? We are currently accepting documents at our front desk in 0210 Beardshear Hall. These may include verification documents, cost of attendance adjustment forms or other financial aid documents. If you have scholarship checks to drop off or sign, please visit our Scholarships Office in 0640 Beardshear Hall.

Due to expected wait times during move in, there is no guarantee we can accommodate last minute appointments. Please call 515-294-2223 or email us at financialsuccess@iastate.edu. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM starting August 10th but we will be answering phones until 5:00 PM.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our Cyclone students, families, staff, and campus partners. We look forward to welcoming you to campus! Remember, we take the fear out of finances. #nofearfinance
